What People Are Saying About

Cabaret

“Urtz handsomely gives us a classic leading man who has all the fragility and emotional ambiguity of a film noir hero.”

— Anthony Chase, The Buffalo News

“They say that the key to acting is listening to the other characters, and Urtz is uncanny in his ability to do that in the most subtle and believable way.”

— Peter Hall, Buffalo Rising

“Another dynamic performance…, including a showplace for his wonderfully rich voice.”

— Cherie Messore, Buffalo Theatre Guide

What People Are Saying About

Hand to God

“Urtz's performance is riveting, as he mentally and physically wrestles and grapples with is inner demons, his handling of the puppet is fascinatingly detailed and nuanced.”

— Michael Rabice, broadwayworld.com

“With Robin Williams-like reflexes and Jim Carreyesque wink, Urtz employs a frantic kind of calmness that’s both alarming and spellbinding. He internalizes the emotions of an external, presentational character, and with seeming ease. It’s a remarkable, versatile, trustworthy performance.”

— Ben Siegel, The Buffalo News

“Standing ovations are such a normal part of curtain applause that they don’t really mean what they used to. The standing O that Urtz received at the end was, trust me, hand to God, from the heart.”

— Peter Hall, Buffalo Rising
